Inside the Museum

The Museum was built in 1966. As was common at that time, the galleries are located on multiple levels, traditionally navigated by stairs.

In our ongoing commitment to create an inclusive environment, we have equipped the Museum with a platform wheelchair lift to ensure a seamless experience for guests who use mobility aids.

Due to state regulations, this lift is not allowed to accommodate strollers.

Lift Specifications:

Platform size: 31 1/2" x 48"

Capacity: 550 lbs.

Parking Facilities

The Museum offers free parking in two dedicated parking lots located at the rear of the Museum on Naglee Avenue and Chapman Street.

Service Animals

Service animals to accompany people with disabilities are allowed in all areas of the facility where the public is normally allowed to go. Service animals are not pets, and are defined as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
